Our 4th of July

Our 4th celebrations included going to a parade with the kids getting three full bags of candy, playing on the slip and slide, going to a movie and watching the kids fly foam airplanes in the backyard. The night was full of BBQ and fire works. One of my favorite moments was watching the kids with sparklers running around the yard and the neighborhood lighting up with fireworks in the air.

   So I wanted to make a watermelon cake, but I failed!! It was so hot the whipping cream melted.

                          But Whitney had great success with her apple pie, it was delicious.
